A graduate of bucolic Bradfield College in England – famous for its classical Greek Theatre – Peter began his career in Rome editing commercials for director Richard Lester, for whom he’d worked as an Assistant Editor on feature films.
Peter has edited on some of the most high profile and iconic films of the last three decades. A frequent collaborator with Kevin Reynolds, Peter cut The Beast of War, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Waterworld, and Tristan and Isolde for the director. He also collaborated on several films with Jon Amiel, including Queen of Hearts, Tune in Tomorrow and Sommersby. Other notable credits include Philip Kaufman’s Quills and Twisted; and the Kevin Costner-directed The Postman. Peter was nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA and an Eddie Award for his work on The Hours, directed by Stephen Daldry and adapted from novel by Michael Cunningham.
Peter’s other film credits include Mikael Håfström, 1408 and Shanghai, Universal Picture’s remake of The Thing, Elsa & Fred, starring Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine, and The Forger for director Philip Martin.
