Directors of Photography

Gavin Finney BSC is an award winning cinematographer, whose work has garnered awards from BAFTA, BSC and RTS. A graduate in Cinematography at The National Film & Television School in the UK, Gavin has photographed feature films, such as the Rob Reiner directed ALEX AND EMMA, and major television dramas including WOLF HALL and THE MINIATURIST.

Finney was nominated by the BSC and RTS for Peter Kosminsky’s  THE STATE in 2017. In 2015 the critically acclaimed WOLF HALL won the BSC Best Cinematography Award and the RTS Judges Award. Finney also won the BAFTA, RTS and BSC Best Cinematography awards for THE FEAR in 2013 – the first time all three major awards have been won by the same person in the same year. He has received numerous BAFTA and RTS nominations including for THE ENGLISH WIFE and GOING POSTAL. He was awarded the Arri/John Alcott Award from British Society of Cinematographers – for which he served as President from 2006-2008.

More recently, his work can be seen on the acclaimed series GOOD OMENS.
