Award-winning Designer, Theater and Opera Director, as well as an accomplished painter, Production Designer Eugenio is also the writer of two successful plays. With a multifaceted career that spans almost 30 years and three continents, Mr. Zanetti is internationally recognized as an artist of extraordinary and versatile qualities.
Eugenio was nominated for an Academy Award® for director Vincent Ward’s What Dreams May Come and won the Oscar® for Restoration, directed by Michael Hoffman, with whom he collaborated on three other films, including Soapdish. Other film credits include Roland Joffe’s There Be Dragons, the Joel Schumacher directed Flatliners, and Last Action Hero, directed by John McTiernan.
He has directed, production designed and costume designed more than 40 Theater and Opera productions in Europe and South America including Un Bal Masqee and Nabucco by Verdi, and Madame Butterfly and Tosca by Puccini. A true “renaissance man,” Eugenio speaks French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese as well as English. He has directed and designed plays and musicals, commercials, and directed a feature, Quantum Project, for the Internet.
