Ben Lester is quickly becoming an accomplished editor of film, television dramas, and documentaries.
He has recently re-teamed with director Susanne Bier on the Netflix feature film thriller, Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich.
Ben’s collaboration with director Susanne Bier on the limited series, The Night Manager (AMC/Ink Factory), garnered a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Editing, along with an array of awards and nominations for the production, including honors from the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Television Awards, and the Primetime Emmy Awards. Ben collaborated again with Susanne Bier on the hit Netflix film Bird Box.
Since earning his BAFTA Award, Lester has gone on to edit episodes of such groundbreaking series as The Crown (Netflix), Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams (Amazon Studios), and Black Mirror (Netflix). Other notable television credits include the Emmy-nominated mini-series The White Queen (BBC/Starz), Dennis Kelly’s Utopia (Channel Four/Kudos Film & Television), the critically acclaimed Broadchurch (BBC America/Kudos Film & Television), The Undoing (HBO) Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu) and the upcoming mini-series Love and Death (HBO Max)
Lester has also edited several acclaimed documentaries, including BIFA-nominated Deep Water (Pathé/IFC Films); 9/11: Phone Calls from the Towers (Channel Four), which received an International Emmy Award nomination.
