“HEDDA” Debuts in Theaters

This week, Nia DaCosta’s film adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s classic play Hedda Gabler makes its theatrical debut. Set in the 1950s, the story follows the titular Hedda Gabler (Tessa Thompson), whose marriage to academic George Tesman (Tom Bateman) has given her a life of leisure, wealth, and “catastrophic boredom.” When a former lover Eileen (Nina Hoss) turns up at a cocktail party, Hedda sets out to destroy her. This deliciously twisted period drama was shot in sumptuous detail by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Sean Bobbitt, BSC and benefited from the subtle yet authentic dialect coaching of William Conacher.

Hedda will play in select theaters starting October 22 before appearing exclusively on Amazon Prime on October 29. More information on theatrical locations and showtimes can be found here.
