The newest Scandinavian crime thriller series in the Netflix international lineup, The Åre Murders, has reportedly shot to the top of the list of audience favorites in the streamer’s foreign language collection. Based on a series of novels, The Åre Murders follows a Stockholm detective who, while under internal investigation, becomes involved in the disappearance of a young girl in a Swedish ski resort town. The show explores themes of secrets and guilt within a seemingly serene community. With cinematography by Nea Harnebrandt Asphäll, FSF, the series is directed by Joakim Eliasson (Gåsmamman) and Alain Darborg (Alex).
