Luka Bazeli attended The School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with a BFA in Film Production.
As the son of acclaimed Cinematographer Bojan Bazeli ASC, Luka had been immersed in the motion picture industry from a very young age, spending lots of time on commercial and feature film sets with his father. He inevitably fostered a passion for the camera, and ultimately for the craft of cinematography itself.
Since graduating from USC, Bazeli has been working as a Director of Photography on feature films, commercials, short films and music videos. Most recently, he wrapped principal photography on AMERICAN BOGEYMAN, directed by Dan Farrands and starring Chad Michael Murray, and prior to that he lensed Lee Ann Hoover’s directing debut feature, STUDENT BODY.
Luka has shot commercials for brands such as ALLSAINTS, CHEVROLET, REEBOK, DUREX, DKNY, & 7 FOR All MANKIND, and music videos for artists such as G-EAZY, CLYDE CARSON, SAINTS, KING CHIP and CLAUDE VON STROKE. Credits include the short films, FREEDOM’S NAME IS MIGHTY SWEET (Brightlight Pictures) and SHE WHO HEARS (which premiered at Uplink Tokyo International Festival 2019).
Luka has also worked as a camera operator and 2nd Unit/Splinter DP on larger films such as A CURE FOR WELLNESS directed by Gore Verbinski (20th Century Fox) and on the additional photography of Disney’s PETE’S DRAGON, directed by David Lowery, as well as additional photography on BLACK WIDOW directed by Cate Shortland.
