As a teenager her obsession with classic musicals such as Ken Russell’s The Boyfriend and Cabaret led not to a career in tap dancing but instead to a love of dance on screen and an appreciation of rhythm and timing, critical to musical and comedy editing.
After film school she worked at the BBC and then assisted the Oscar nominated editor Tariq Anwar on 3 features, the last of which brought her to LA in 2014 where she stayed.
Lucy edited on Ross Katz’s 2016 romantic comedy feature The Choice for Lionsgate and on Stuck, a musical feature set in New York’s subway which received numerous festival awards including 3 audience awards, and closed the 2017 Raindance Film Festival. She has additional editing credits on Blumhouse’s movie Truth or Dare and action movie Escape Plan 3 starring Sylvester Stallone.
She was nominated for the Best Editing Award at the Sydney Indie Film Festival 2017 for her work on the short film Think Fast.
In 2018 she started working with Tate Taylor and John Norris on their thriller “Ma”.
She has a degree from the University College London in Anthropology which so far has proven completely useless.
